I Sydtyskland var schnauzeren udbredt som staldhund, da den f\u00f8ler sig s\u00e6rlig godt tilpas i selskab med heste. Dens opgave var at holde rotter, mus og andet sm\u00e5kravl fra d\u00f8rene og sl\u00e5 alarm, hvis der kom fremmede efter lygtet\u00e6ndingstid. Racen, som gik under navnet rattler eller ruh\u00e5ret pinscher, er n\u00e6sten u\u00e6ndret gennem \u00e5rhundreder. Det nuv\u00e6rende navn er fra 1842 og hentyder til sk\u00e6gget – p\u00e5 tysk betyder \u201dschnauzbart\u201d et busket oversk\u00e6g. I dag er det f\u00f8rst og fremmest en hund for den aktive familie. Den egner sig til mange forskellige opgaver.<\/span><\/p>\nindl\u00e6ring, behov og aktivitetsniveau:<\/h3>\n
Den unge hund er meget aktiv og opfindsom, og den kan have brug for at blive d\u00e6mpet en smule. Senere indretter den sig efter familiens aktivitetsniveau. Den holder som regel god kontakt, men den kan indimellem blive grebet af akut h\u00f8resvigt.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/h5>\n
